Constantine: Keanu Reeves' DC Superhero Movie Streaming on HBO Max from January 1, 2026

HBO Max has announced the streaming release date for the DC superhero movie Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves. The film, released in 2005, is based on the Hellblazer comic book series and follows the protagonist, John Constantine, an occult expert who can interact with angels and demons. Constantine will be available for streaming on HBO Max starting January 1, 2026.
Upon its initial release, Constantine grossed approximately $230.9 million worldwide, surpassing its production budget of $70-100 million. The film also earned around $154 million in international markets. Critical reception for Constantine was mixed, with a 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 50 metascore on Metacritic.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, Constantine features a cast that includes Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Djimon Hounsou, Max Baker, and Pruitt Taylor Vince. The story revolves around John Constantine assisting LAPD detective Angela Dodson in investigating her sister's mysterious death.
A sequel to Constantine is reportedly in the works, with Keanu Reeves and the creative team having pitched the story to DC Studios. Reeves hinted that the sequel would delve deeper into Constantine's character and hinted at a more intense storyline. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed discussions about the sequel but mentioned that a script had not been reviewed yet.
