Former NFL Tight End Anthony Becht Named Head Coach of Orlando Storm in UFL Expansion

The Orlando Storm has appointed Anthony Becht, former St. Louis Battlehawks coach and NFL tight end, as their new head coach. Becht expressed mixed emotions about leaving the Battlehawks but looks forward to the challenge of leading the Storm in his home state of Florida. UFL Co-Owner Mike Repole praised Becht's coaching abilities and expects him to bring passion and leadership to the Storm, emphasizing the significance of football in the state.
Joining the UFL as one of three new teams next season, the Orlando Storm will replace the Michigan Panthers, Memphis Showboats, and San Antonio Brahmas. Becht, a former West Virginia tight end, had a successful NFL career with the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs, finishing with 21 receiving touchdowns. He transitioned to coaching in 2019 and led the Battlehawks to a strong record from 2023-25.
The upcoming 2026 season marks the third year of the UFL, formed after the merger of the USFL and XFL. Stay updated on the latest sports news by creating or logging into your FOX Sports account to receive personalized newsletters featuring your favorite leagues, teams, and players.
