Paramount+ to Premiere The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender Exclusively in October 2026
Paramount+ will exclusively premiere the upcoming animated feature The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender in October 2026, skipping a theatrical release. This film, along with the new series Avatar: Safe Havens, is part of Avatar Studios, a division created by Nickelodeon in 2021 to expand the Avatar universe.
The cast of The Legend of Aang includes Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Peta Sergeant, Freida Pinto, and Ke Huy Quan, joining previously announced members. The film, based on the original series Avatar: The Last Airbender, will be directed by Lauren Montgomery, with co-directors Steve Ahn and William Mata. Producers include Latifa Ouaou, Maryann Garger, Bryan Konietzko, and Michael Dante DiMartino, with composer Jeremy Zuckerman returning to score.
