Garth Brooks Pays Tribute to KISS at 2025 Kennedy Center Honors

Garth Brooks, a renowned country music artist, once introduced his hard-rock alter ego, Chris Gaines, in the late ’90s. Despite the commercial underperformance of the album Garth Brooks in…the Life of Chris Gaines, which featured the hit song “Lost in You,” Brooks recently paid tribute to KISS at the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. The event honored a diverse group of artists, including George Strait, Gloria Gaynor, KISS, Michael Crawford, and Sylvester Stallone. Brooks took the stage to perform KISS’ “Shout It Out Loud,” showcasing his admiration for the rock band. This wasn’t the first time Brooks had paid homage to KISS, as he previously performed their song “Hard Luck Woman” on a tribute album and on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Brooks expressed his appreciation for the Kennedy Center’s celebration of diverse music genres, highlighting the influence of artists like KISS on his own live performances.
