The research analyzed the level of annoyance in songs based on factors like repetition, shrillness, harmonic dullness, and the use of filler words in the lyrics. Two of Carpenter's songs, "Sugar Talking" and "Tears," tied for the top spot with 46% of respondents finding them annoying. Other songs that made the top 10 list include Lady Gaga's "The Dead Dance," Jimin's "Who," and David Guetta and Sia's "Beautiful People."
