Netflix Breaks Records with NFL Livestream on Christmas Day

Netflix set a new record on Christmas Day with its livestream of the Minnesota Vikings-Detroit Lions NFL game, attracting 25.7 million viewers, making it the most-streamed game in NFL history. The halftime show, "Snoop's Holiday Halftime Party," drew an average of 29 million viewers. The Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders game earlier in the day had an average viewership of 19.9 million. Netflix has now streamed the top three most-watched NFL games ever.
The viewership data from Nielsen only accounts for U.S. viewers, but Netflix's NFL games were available globally, with viewers from over 200 countries and territories tuning in. The Lions-Vikings game had an average minute audience of 30.5 million worldwide, while the Cowboys-Commanders game reached 22.4 million viewers. The NFL games contributed to Netflix's strong viewership on Christmas Day, which also saw the release of "Stranger Things" Season 5, Volume 2, becoming the platform's most-watched title worldwide.
In addition to the games, the NFL telecasts featured a lineup of entertainment, including performances by Snoop Dogg, Lainey Wilson, and Sugarhill Gang. Martha Stewart even made an appearance, adding to the festive atmosphere of the broadcasts. Stay tuned for more exciting content from Netflix.
