X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 - Unveiling the Dark Future of Marvel Comics

Time travel has always been a prominent theme in classic X-Men stories, alongside themes of prejudice and mutant powers. The miniseries Age of Revelation explores a dark future for Marvel Comics, with the final issue revealing the identity of a new villain who turns out to be a former X-Man turned evil and presumed dead.

In X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1, written by Jed MacKay and illustrated by Ryan Stegman, the story revolves around Revelation, formerly known as the X-Men member Cypher, who gains enhanced powers as the Heir of Apocalypse. Revelation aims to bring order to the world through peaceful means but secretly plans to transform Earth into a gestalt planet under his control, similar to Ego The Living Planet.

The surviving X-Men bring the minds of Cyclops and Beast from the past to the future, where they inhabit their older selves' bodies. This unexpected time travel is a result of the future Beast and Cyclops attempting to alter their timeline by preventing it from ever existing. However, when Revelation emerges victorious, their past selves are returned to their original time, hoping to correct the mistakes of their future selves.

Two shocking revelations unfold as the future Beast reveals that he did not enter his past self's body as planned, and Cyclops discovers that his future self did not visit the future. This raises suspicions about who impersonated the present Beast in the Age of Revelation future.

The final page introduces a new X-Men villain known as The Chairman, a mysterious figure behind the supervillain group 3K. The Chairman's true identity is revealed to be the original Beast, as he utters his classic catchphrase, "Oh my stars and garters!" The original Beast, who went mad with power during the Krakoa era, had been presumed dead after sacrificing himself in X-Force #50. However, it is now evident that he survived and has returned as The Chairman.

X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 is now available for purchase at comic shops, offering readers a thrilling conclusion to the miniseries.
