Florida State University Football Roster Changes: Departures and Transfers Shake Up Seminoles Lineup

Florida State University is experiencing significant changes in its football roster as 30 players are set to depart via the NCAA transfer portal. While most of the departing players were not key contributors, the Seminoles have also lost some starters. To make room for the 32 incoming prep and junior college signees and transfers, FSU needs to create space for about 19 transfers. One of the recent departures is redshirt sophomore defensive tackle KJ Sampson, who has decided to transfer after three seasons at Florida State. Sampson, a former four-star prospect, struggled to live up to expectations and was surpassed by younger players on the depth chart. Despite his potential, Sampson never solidified a starting role during his time with the Seminoles. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at his new school.
