Ringo Starr Teases New Album with T Bone Burnett: A Look at the Legendary Drummer's Latest Musical Journey
Ringo Starr, the legendary drummer of The Beatles and a successful solo artist, is gearing up to release a new album, following his country album "Look Up" that came out in January 2025. In a recent interview with Associated Press, the 85-year-old musician revealed that he is working on a new album with producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett, aiming for a potential release in February.
Starr hinted at the possibility of the album's release date shifting, acknowledging that the record label might have a say in the final decision. Despite mentioning February as a target month, he mentioned that the release could potentially happen earlier, depending on various factors.
Throughout 2025 and into the new year, Starr has been busy with his All-Starr Band tour, featuring renowned musicians like Steve Lukather and Colin Hay. Additionally, he has been collaborating with Burnett on multiple projects, including writing songs for the upcoming country album and playing drums on every track.
Teasing the new album, Starr mentioned that it would include a cover of a Carl Perkins song, adding a touch of country and rock to the mix. While he didn't reveal the specific song, he described it as "a little sadder" compared to his previous covers during his time with The Beatles.
The upcoming album will mark a year since the release of "Look Up," which featured singles like "Look Up," "Time on My Hands," and "Thankful," as well as guest appearances from artists like Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings. As Starr prepares for the album's release, he also plans to embark on more tour dates in 2026, showcasing his enduring passion for music and performance.
