One Battle After Another" Sweeps National Society of Film Critics Awards: Full List of Winners and Runners-Up

The National Society of Film Critics Awards saw "One Battle After Another" sweep the top categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and both Supporting Acting awards. The film, written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, outperformed its competitors, with Kleber Mendonça Filho's "The Secret Agent" coming in third and winning Best Film Not in English. Ethan Hawke and Kathleen Chalfant won Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, for their standout performances in "Blue Moon" and "Familiar Touch." Benicio del Toro and Teyana Taylor took home the Supporting Acting awards, while Autumn Durald Arkapaw won Best Cinematography for "Sinners."

Chloé Zhao's "Hamnet" was notably overlooked at the awards, with no recognition for the film or its stars. Other Academy Award contenders like "Marty Supreme," "Frankenstein," and "Wicked: For Good" also did not win or make the cut for runners-up. The National Society of Film Critics, comprising over 60 critics from the U.S., has a track record of predicting the Best Picture Oscar winner, with "Nomadland" being the most recent example. Last year's Oscar winner, "Anora," did not receive any awards from the NSFC.

The full list of winners and runners-up includes "One Battle After Another" as the Best Picture, Paul Thomas Anderson as Best Director, Kathleen Chalfant as Best Actress, Ethan Hawke as Best Actor, Teyana Taylor as Best Supporting Actress, Benicio del Toro as Best Supporting Actor, Jafar Panahi for Best Screenplay, "The Secret Agent" for Best Film Not in English, and "My Undesirable Friends: Part I — Last Air In Moscow" for Best Nonfiction Film. Additional awards were given for Best Cinematography, Special Award for a Film Awaiting U.S. Distribution, Best Experimental Film, and Film Heritage Awards.
