Boston College transfer running back Turbo Richard has committed to IU football. Richard, a 5-foot-8, 207-pound player from Charlotte, North Carolina, had a successful season with the Eagles, rushing for 749 yards and nine touchdowns while also contributing in the passing game with 30 receptions for 213 yards and two touchdowns. He has two seasons of eligibility left and will be a valuable addition to the Hoosiers' backfield, which is losing its top two running backs to graduation. Richard joins a group of portal commitments for IU, including players from Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kansas State, TCU, and Cincinnati.

During the 2025 season, Richard started all 11 games he played in, showcasing his skills as a versatile running back. He had standout performances, such as a career-high 171 yards and two touchdowns against California and a 141-yard game with two touchdowns against Georgia Tech. In his freshman year at Boston College, Richard played in eight games, rushing for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
