Milwaukee Brewers Announce Coaching Staff Changes for 2026 Season

The Milwaukee Brewers have announced their coaching staff for the upcoming 2026 season, with some notable changes and promotions. Former major league first baseman Daniel Vogelbach, who previously played for the Brewers, has been hired as a hitting coach. Lead hitting coach Al LeBoeuf will not return to the major league staff, with Eric Theisen being promoted to the lead hitting coach role. Vogelbach and Guillermo Martinez will serve as assistants to Theisen.
In addition to the hitting coach changes, there are further adjustments in the coaching staff. Third base coach Jason Lane has been named the "offense and strategy coordinator," while infield coach Matt Erickson will now also handle third base coaching duties. Assistant pitching coach Jim Henderson is being promoted to the title of "pitching coordinator," with Juan Sandoval taking over as the assistant pitching coach.
Spencer Allen, the former director of player development, will join the major league staff as a first base coach, replacing Julio Borbon. The coaching staff shakeup includes internal promotions and changes, with Vogelbach being the most recognizable addition. Vogelbach, known for his pitch recognition and power, is taking on his first coaching role after retiring as a player last season.
Guillermo Martinez, who previously served as the Blue Jays' hitting coach, is another new addition to the Brewers' coaching staff. Martinez brings years of experience as a minor league hitting coach and coordinator, and this marks his 15th season of professional coaching. Borbon and LeBoeuf will remain with the Brewers organization in unspecified roles.
The Brewers' coaching staff for the 2026 season reflects a mix of new faces and internal promotions, with Vogelbach and Martinez adding their expertise to the team. The changes aim to strengthen the team's coaching capabilities and support player development for the upcoming season.
