Ghost Rider Revival: Marvel's Plans for the Fiery Antihero in the MCU
Ghost Rider is set to make a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a long absence. Both Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes versions of Ghost Rider have previously appeared in the MCU, with Gabriel Luna portraying Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fourth season. Johnny Blaze also had a cameo in the same season. Plans for a Ghost Rider spin-off series on Hulu were scrapped, leaving the character out of the MCU for some time.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is working on a Ghost Rider project for the next saga of the MCU. Details about the project, such as which version of Ghost Rider will be featured, are currently unknown. Richtman's track record with scoops is not always accurate, so fans should approach this news with caution.
Richtman previously claimed that Marvel Studios has already cast the actor to play Johnny Blaze in the MCU. However, an official casting announcement may not come anytime soon, as Ghost Rider is not expected to appear until after the Multiverse Saga concludes in 2027 with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars.
In the meantime, fans can revisit Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 on Disney+ to see the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider in action. The return of Ghost Rider to the MCU is sure to excite Marvel fans and open up new storytelling possibilities in the cinematic universe.
