Kat Dennings Confirms Absence from Avengers: Doomsday - What Fans Need to Know

One of the stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has confirmed that they will not be appearing in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. Directed by the Russo Brothers, the movie is currently in post-production and is set to hit theaters in the United States later this year. Its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is scheduled for release in 2027.
Kat Dennings, who plays Darcy Lewis in the MCU, revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that her character will not be making an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. Despite Marvel scanning her at one point, it seems unlikely that her character will be digitally inserted into the film.
This news may not come as a surprise to fans, as Darcy has never been a part of an Avengers movie before, and the cast of Doomsday is already quite extensive. However, Dennings has been a part of the MCU since her first appearance in 2011's Thor, where she played a supporting role. She has also appeared in Thor: The Dark World, WandaVision, Thor: Love and Thunder, and several episodes of What If...?
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for December 17, 2027. Despite not being in the upcoming film, Dennings' presence in the MCU has been significant over the years.
