Seattle Sounders midfielder Obed Vargas recently revealed that Club América showed interest in him during the winter transfer window but he is focused on pursuing a career in Europe. Vargas, who has been a key player for the Sounders under coach Brian Schmetzer, expressed his desire to move to Europe before the end of his contract with the MLS team at the end of the year.
Having made his debut with the Sounders in 2021, Vargas has impressed with four goals and 12 assists in 92 MLS appearances over five seasons.
