Unveiling Led Zeppelin: Rare Rehearsal Recording of 'Since I've Been Loving You' from 1980 European Tour

A newly surfaced soundboard recording of Led Zeppelin rehearsing "Since I've Been Loving You" in London before their 1980 European tour has been unveiled on a bootleg CD. The track, lasting nearly nine minutes, is part of a longer tape from the 1980 tour rehearsals that has recently come to light.
The bootleg release, titled Soundboard Scraps by Tarantura Hawks, features Led Zeppelin's rehearsal at the Victoria Theatre in London on June 2, 1980. This recording is a snippet of a more extensive 1980 tour rehearsal tape that has been circulating privately since around 2019.
While a 39-minute recording of the European tour rehearsals has been widely available, a longer 85-minute tape has now surfaced. The Led Zeppelin Underground website updated its entry for the 1980 European tour rehearsals in 2020 to include references to this extended 78-minute soundboard tape, which was later expanded to 85 minutes in 2024.
Tarantura Hawks, a new bootleg label, released the Soundboard Scraps CD, which also includes Led Zeppelin's performance of "Tangerine" in Tokyo, Japan in 1971. This release, marked with the code "TH-001," suggests it is the inaugural offering from the Tarantura Hawks label.
Additionally, the Soundboard Scraps bootleg contains a sample of Led Zeppelin's performance in Jacksonville, Florida in 1973, previously released by Empress Valley. It is possible that more segments of the extended 1980 European tour rehearsal tape will surface through future bootleg releases.
The tracklist for the 85-minute rehearsal recording, as detailed on the Led Zeppelin Underground website, includes various rehearsal sessions from the band's 1980 European tour.
