Dust Bunny: Bryan Fuller's Family-Friendly Horror Adventure

Bryan Fuller, the creator of the TV series Hannibal, ventured into the world of family-friendly horror with his directorial debut, Dust Bunny. Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions recently released the movie digitally on Amazon for $14.99 to purchase or $9.99 to rent.
The plot of Dust Bunny follows a 10-year-old girl who teams up with her neighbor, a hit man, to confront their own monsters. The neighbor, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is hired to help the girl eliminate the monster she believes devoured her family. As they face a series of challenges, including assassins targeting the hit man, they must come to terms with the existence of real monsters.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, and Sophie Sloan. Weaver described her character as not very nice, despite having stunning costumes.
Produced by Entertainment One, Dust Bunny received a 6/10 review from JoBlo's Chris Bumbray, who praised the chemistry between Mikkelsen and Sloan and Fuller's unique vision, making the movie feel refreshingly original.
Despite Fuller's initial intention to create a family-friendly film, Dust Bunny received an unexpected R rating for violence. Fuller expressed hope that the movie could serve as a gateway genre experience for kids, even with the higher rating.
