Tragic Incident in Jones County: Forsyth Woman Killed in Side-by-Side Wreck, Husband Facing Charges

A tragic incident occurred in Jones County, Georgia, where a Forsyth woman lost her life in a side-by-side wreck on December 28. The woman's husband, Zachary Taylor Schwartz, is now facing charges related to her death. The Jones County Sheriff's Office has charged Schwartz with DUI, reckless driving, and homicide by vehicle in connection with the accident. Schwartz turned himself in and was released on the same day.

The incident report reveals that Schwartz and his wife, Allison Buice Schwartz, were riding a side-by-side UTV on Barron Russell Road when they collided with a recently fallen tree. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m., resulting in Allison Schwartz being ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Zachary Schwartz sustained minor injuries and was treated at the hospital.

During the investigation, authorities discovered evidence suggesting that alcohol and drugs may have contributed to the crash. Additionally, they found that certain evidence was deliberately discarded in the woods, potentially hindering the investigation. As a result, Schwartz faces charges including felony vehicular homicide in the first degree, DUI, possession of marijuana, and reckless driving.

In a disturbing turn of events, Schwartz was also arrested for drag racing outside the funeral home on the day of his wife's funeral. The Jones County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the case and pursue justice for the victim.
