This collection captures Jimi Hendrix's improvisation sessions during a pivotal period in his career. The package includes three 180-gram colored vinyl LPs, a 7-inch single, a patch, and a bumper sticker, all housed in a tri-fold jacket featuring dynamic photos.
Born in Seattle in 1942, Jimi Hendrix rose to fame with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, releasing their first single in December 1966. Tragically, Hendrix passed away in September 1970, leaving behind a lasting legacy in music history. The Valley of Jams recordings document a transitional phase for the Experience lineup, with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles joining the band.
Engineered by Eddie Kramer and curated by John McDermott, the compilation showcases a range of tracks, including the mesmerizing "Slow Version" and the iconic "Trash Man." "Cherokee Mist" and "Astro Man" feature Tom Erdelyi, who later became known as Tommy Ramone of the Ramones. The standout 28-minute track "Keep On Groovin'" blends various musical genres seamlessly.
