A popular Australian fashion brand, adored by celebrities such as Taylor Swift, is set to open its first Scottish store on January 23. Free People, known for its vintage-inspired boho styles, will be located on Edinburgh’s George Street. The brand's iconic pieces include cowboy boots, coin belts, fringe, and suede, which have been sported by various celebrities like Selena Gomez, Kaia Gerber, and Jennifer Lopez. The new 7,974 sq ft store will feature two floors, with a dedicated space for FP Movement, the brand's activewear line. Additionally, the store will offer partner brands like Clòimh, a wool accessories brand founded by Scottish designer Hollie Mercedes Peters. Free People has also designed a special tartan fabric in pink, green, and plum colors to celebrate its Scottish debut.
Leighanne Jones, Free People's senior creative director, expressed excitement about the brand's expansion to Edinburgh, noting that the city's aesthetic and lifestyle align well with Free People's ethos. The boutique will showcase a curated selection of Free People's core collections, along with FP Movement and locally relevant partner brands like Clòimh. The store aims to cater to the Edinburgh community's fashion needs and preferences, offering a unique shopping experience for fans of the brand and fashion enthusiasts alike. The opening of the Scottish store marks a significant milestone for Free People as it continues to expand its presence globally and connect with new audiences.
