Mark Ingram: Alabama's Heisman Hero Inducted into College Football Hall of Fame
Alabama's first Heisman Trophy winner, Mark Ingram, will be honored with induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. Ingram, a former running back for the Crimson Tide, played a pivotal role in Alabama's 2009 BCS National Championship victory. During his standout Heisman season, Ingram led the SEC in rushing yards and touchdowns, showcasing his exceptional talent on the field. Throughout his collegiate career, Ingram amassed impressive stats, scoring 42 rushing touchdowns and gaining over 3,000 yards on the ground. Additionally, he contributed significantly in the passing game, recording four touchdowns and 670 receiving yards.
Following his successful college career, Ingram was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 2011 NFL draft. He went on to have a successful professional career, earning Pro Bowl honors three times before retiring in 2022. The induction ceremony for the College Football Hall of Fame's 2026 class, which includes Mark Ingram, will take place at Bellagio in Las Vegas on Dec. 8. This prestigious honor recognizes Ingram's outstanding contributions to the sport of football and solidifies his legacy as one of Alabama's all-time greats.
