The Montreal Canadiens have secured forward Alexandre Texier for a two-year contract extension worth $5 million, as confirmed by his agent Dan Milstein of Gold Star Hockey. Texier, a 26-year-old player, initially joined the Habs on a one-year deal for $1 million following his departure from the St. Louis Blues. Throughout this season, he has accumulated 17 points from seven goals and 10 assists in a total of 33 games split between the two teams.
Texier boasts a seven-year tenure in the NHL, with his first five seasons spent with the Columbus Blue Jackets before transitioning to the Blues in the previous season. Hailing from St. Martin D’heres, France, Texier has amassed 47 goals and 107 points across 265 regular-season NHL games in his career. The Canadiens, currently holding a record of 26-14-7 with 59 points in 47 games, occupy the third spot in the Atlantic Division standings.
