2026 Mobo Awards Nominations: Olivia Dean and Little Simz Lead the Pack
Olivia Dean and Little Simz lead the nominations for the 2026 Mobo Awards, celebrating black music in the UK and beyond. Dean's album "The Art Of Loving" and Little Simz's record "Lotus" each received four nominations, showcasing their musical achievements. Other artists with multiple nominations include PinkPantheress, Skepta, Central Cee, Flo, Kwn, and Jim Legxacy. The awards ceremony will take place in Manchester on 26 March, marking the 30th anniversary of the Mobo organization, which was founded in 1996 to promote music of black origin.
Little Simz, a three-time Mobo winner, is nominated in categories such as best female, best hip-hop act, and video of the year. Olivia Dean also received nominations for best female, best soul act, and song of the year for "Man I Need." Rising rapper Jim Legxacy, known for his collaboration with Dave on "3x," is nominated for four awards, including video of the year for "Father." Kwn, an up-and-coming R&B singer, is recognized in categories like best newcomer, best female act, best soul act, and song of the year for "Do What I Say."
KWN expressed gratitude for the recognition from the UK music scene, highlighting the importance of perseverance in the industry. Sasha Keable, who struggled to establish herself as a solo artist, received nominations for best female and best soul act. Vocal harmony trio Flo, jazz stars Ezra Collective, and rapper Kojey Radical are also nominated for album of the year. Central Cee, a previous Mobo winner, is recognized for his debut album "Can't Rush Greatness."
The winners of the Mobo Awards will be revealed at Manchester's Co-Op Live Arena in March, with additional performances and presenters to be announced. Leading up to the ceremony, a fringe festival will be held in collaboration with Manchester City Council, featuring concerts, workshops, and discussion panels. Manchester will also host the Brit Awards this year, showcasing the city's growing influence in the music industry.
