Dancing Words" Greatest Hits Tour: John Mellencamp Returns to the Stage with Iconic Anthems

John Mellencamp, the renowned rockstar, has decided to give his fans what they have been eagerly waiting for by announcing the "Dancing Words" greatest hits tour for this summer. The tour will feature all of his classic hits that he has refrained from performing for the past 17 years. The announcement was made in a trailer starring actor Sean Penn, a close friend of Mellencamp, where they discuss the significance of revisiting his iconic anthems.
The tour is set to kick off on July 10 in Grand Rapids, MI, and will make stops in various cities including Kansas City, Cincinnati, Houston, Phoenix, and Hollywood. The 19-date tour will conclude on August 12 in Mountain View, CA. This tour marks a departure from Mellencamp's recent focus on smaller venues and new material, as he will be performing all of his most beloved songs, some of which have not been played live in years.
Fans can look forward to hearing classics like "Pink Houses," "Jack and Diane," "Small Town," "Hurts So Good," "Authority Song," and more. Mellencamp will also be performing songs that he hasn't touched in over a decade, such as "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.," "I Need a Lover," "Wild Nights," and "Ain’t Even Done With the Night." Presale tickets for Citi cardmembers will be available starting January 20, with general sale tickets going on sale on January 23 at mellencamp.com.
In addition to the tour, fans can also enjoy various VIP packages and fan experiences, including premium tickets, access to the pre-show Scarecrow VIP Lounge, an autographed VIP tour poster, and exclusive gift items.
