DC Next Level Unleashed: Fury of Firestorm and Zatanna Solo Series Set to Ignite the Comic Book Universe in 2026

DC Comics is set to launch two new solo series for popular superheroes as part of the DC Next Level initiative in 2026. These new series will focus on characters who are not typically featured in standalone stories, catering to their dedicated fan bases. The upcoming additions to the DC Next Level lineup are Fury of Firestorm and Zatanna.
Fury of Firestorm will follow the Nuclear Man, who possesses atomic powers that merge two individuals into a powerful fiery entity. The series, written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Rafael De Latorre, will kick off with Ronnie Raymond settling in the quiet town of Bedford, Colorado. However, trouble arises when Firestorm emerges, using his transmutation abilities to cause chaos in the town. The mystery behind the former Justice League member's actions will be a central focus of the new comic.
Zatanna, the Mistress of Magic and a second-generation superhero/stage magician, will be the protagonist of the other new series. Written and illustrated by Jamal Campbell, who previously worked on the 2025 Zatanna miniseries, the comic will continue Zatanna's journey as Earth's Prime Magus. Balancing her magical responsibilities with her stage performances and Justice League duties will be a key theme in the upcoming series.
Fans can look forward to the release of Fury of Firestorm #1 on April 1, 2026, and Zatanna #1 on April 29, 2026. These new additions to the DC Next Level lineup promise to offer exciting and fresh perspectives on beloved characters, expanding the comic book universe for readers to enjoy.
