God of War Live-Action Series: Ryan Hurst Cast as Kratos Sparks Excitement Among Fans

Excitement is building among God of War fans as Prime Video's upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular video game franchise has officially cast Ryan Hurst as Kratos. The series, co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions, has received a two-season order and is currently in pre-production in Vancouver. Hurst, known for his role as Thor in God of War Ragnarök, brings familiarity with the franchise's tone and mythology to the role of the iconic Spartan warrior.
The show will follow the storyline of the last two games, focusing on Kratos and his ten-year-old son, Atreus, as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of Faye, their wife and mother. Fans have reacted positively to the casting of Hurst as Kratos, with many expressing their approval on social media platforms. The series will be directed by Frederick E.O. Toye, known for his work on Shōgun, The Boys, and Fallout, with Ronald D. Moore serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
In addition to Hurst, the series boasts a talented team of executive producers, including Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon.
