How to Train Your Dragon 2 Sequel: Cate Blanchett Returns as Valka in Upcoming Live-Action Film
Cate Blanchett has signed on to reprise her role as Viking warrior Valka in Universal Pictures' live-action sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2. The movie, based on the best-selling book series by Cressida Cowell, is set to continue the adventures of Hiccup, the dragon-befriending Viking. Blanchett joins a cast that includes Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gerard Butler, Julian Dennison, and others. The film is being produced by Marc Platt Productions and is scheduled for release on June 11, 2027. Blanchett, known for her roles in various films, is represented by CAA.
