Michigan Basketball Triumphs Over Washington Huskies on West Coast Road Trip

Michigan basketball continued its successful west coast road trip with a solid win over the Washington Huskies. The Wolverines were led by their impressive front court players, Yaxel Lendeborg, Morez Johnson Jr., and Aday Mara, who combined for 50 points and 25 rebounds in the 82-72 victory. Mara had a standout performance, shooting 10-of-11 from the field and scoring 20 points, while Johnson Jr. grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds.
Despite a slow offensive start, Michigan took control of the game early on and maintained the lead throughout. The Wolverines struggled from beyond the arc initially but eventually found their rhythm, with freshman Trey McKenney hitting a crucial 3-pointer to extend the lead. Michigan went into halftime with a nine-point advantage, leading 39-30.
In the second half, Michigan did a great job of keeping Washington at bay, never allowing them to get too close. Although the Huskies had five players scoring in double figures and Hannes Steinbach posing a threat on the offensive glass, Michigan's resilience secured the win at the Alaska Airlines Arena.
With this victory, Michigan's record improves to 15-1 overall and 5-1 in Big Ten play. The team will now head to Eugene, Oregon, for a matchup against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on NBC. Michigan looks to continue its winning streak as they face another tough opponent on the road.
