Princess Catherine Honors England's Women's Rugby Team at Windsor Castle

Princess Catherine, the Patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), hosted a reception at Windsor Castle to honor England's Women's Rugby Team for their World Cup victory. The team, known as the Red Roses, secured a 33-13 win over Canada. The Princess greeted the team and their staff at the Castle, where they also presented her with the Rugby World Cup. Despite missing the final match, Catherine had shown her support for the team on social media before their victory.
In a show of solidarity with the Red Roses, Princess Catherine wore a red cowboy hat with a tiara-like design while posing with players Megan Jones, Ellie Kildunne, and Jess Breach. She became the new patron of the RFU in 2022, taking over from Prince Harry. Her husband, Prince William, is the Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, leading to a friendly rivalry between the couple when the two teams face off. The royal family's love for rugby was evident as they attended the Six Nations matches together.
The couple's children, including Prince George, have also shown an interest in sports. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy playing rugby and other sports at school. Catherine expressed her enthusiasm for promoting co-ed sports like rugby, highlighting the importance of encouraging children to participate in various activities. The royal family's support for rugby reflects their dedication to promoting sports and physical activity among young people.
