67’s Gear Up for Battle: New Additions and Team Chemistry Key to Success

After playing his 201st Ontario Hockey League game with the Owen Sound Attack, David Bedkowski quickly made his way to join the Ottawa 67’s for his 202nd game. The 6-foot-6 defenseman was excited to be part of the team's plan to add size and toughness before the OHL trade deadline. Bedkowski, along with other newly acquired players, was set to make his home debut as the 67’s hosted the Gatineau Olympiques in a two-game series dubbed the “Battle of the Ottawa River.”
The 67’s assistant coach emphasized the importance of adding big, physical players to the team to endure the grind of a long season and playoffs. Despite dropping two of three games on a recent road trip, the team remains confident in their chemistry and believes the new additions will strengthen their lineup. The team made strategic moves to acquire experienced players while parting ways with some younger forwards.
The veteran players on the team acknowledged the difficulty of losing teammates but welcomed the new additions, recognizing their potential to contribute positively to the team. The chemistry and trust among the players have been key factors in the 67’s success so far this season, propelling them to a Top 10 spot in the Canadian Hockey League power rankings.
Bedkowski, a Buffalo Sabres draft pick, praised the professional atmosphere created by head coach Dave Cameron and his staff. He acknowledged the team's unity and welcoming nature, emphasizing the importance of everyone contributing to the team's success. With his experience and physical style of play, Bedkowski aims to lead by example and share his knowledge with his new teammates.
As the 67’s prepare for their upcoming games against the Gatineau Olympiques, Bedkowski and the rest of the team are focused on building on their success and continuing to work together towards their goals. The back-to-back series will test their cohesion and determination as they strive for victory on home ice.
