Maine Murder Suspect Apprehended in New Hampshire After Police Chase

A man wanted for murder in Maine was apprehended in New Hampshire after a chase on Saturday morning. Dane Burke, 55, from Skowhegan, was pursued by Lowell Police Department on I-93 northbound. Maine State Police informed Lowell PD that Burke was a suspect in the murder of Nicole Jackson in Skowhegan. State police then joined the chase, following Burke into Salem and down various routes before he crashed his Jeep into a tree in Dunbarton. Burke was arrested by New Hampshire State Police after barricading himself in the Jeep and will face charges as a fugitive from justice. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Nicole Jackson, 46, was allegedly killed by blunt force and sharp force trauma, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
