Peter Gabriel's Live Albums: In the Big Room and Live at WOMAD 1982

Peter Gabriel is set to release two live albums this spring, both of which were previously available on streaming platforms in 2025. The first album, In the Big Room, will be released on Mar. 13, followed by Live at WOMAD 1982 on May 8. In the Big Room features a fan club show held at the Big Room in Gabriel's Real World Studios in the U.K. The album includes tracks from his 2002 and 2003 Growing Up Live tour and the 2004 Still Growing Up Live tour. Only Full Moon fan club members were able to attend the Nov. 23, 2003, show in the largest studio space.

Live at WOMAD 1982 captures Gabriel's first performance at the WOMAD festival, which stands for World of Music, Arts and Dance. The festival took place in Somerset, England, and featured 60 bands from over 20 countries. Gabriel showcased his interest in music from different cultures during the event. The album includes seven songs from his fourth album, which was released just two months prior. The concert at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet drew a crowd of 4,000 people at the indoor Showering Pavilion.

During the performances, Gabriel was accompanied by musicians such as David Rhodes on guitar, Peter Hammill from Van Der Graaf Generator, Larry Fast on synth, Jerry Marotta on drums, and John Giblin on bass. Gabriel has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, once with Genesis and once as a solo artist. His 1986 album, So, remains his most commercially successful release.

Looking ahead to 2026, Gabriel has announced plans to release a new album titled o/i, with the full project expected to be completed by the end of the year. Preorders for physical releases of the upcoming albums are currently available. Gabriel's upcoming releases are highly anticipated by fans and music enthusiasts alike.
