The Glasgow Film Festival, Scotland's largest film festival, is set to return for its 22nd edition, featuring 126 films from 44 countries, including 16 premieres. Organized by Glasgow Film, the festival will kick off with the UK premiere of the documentary "Everybody to Kenmure Street" and close with James McAvoy's directorial debut "California Schemin."

The festival will showcase a mix of Hollywood blockbusters and smaller independent films, with a focus on early-career filmmakers. Glasgow Film Festival 2026 will also feature 50 foreign language films representing 44 languages, highlighting diversity in cinema.

Screenings will take place at Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT) and ODEON Luxe Glasgow Quay, as well as special events at various locations across the city. The festival aims to celebrate Scottish talent, both established filmmakers and newcomers, putting Scotland in the spotlight.

Among the Scottish films premiering at the festival is "Welcome to G-Town," a sci-fi comedy from twin brothers Ben McQuaid and Nathan McQuaid. Additionally, UK premieres will feature Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie in "Couture" and Charli XCX in "Erupcja."

Other notable films include "The Dutchman," "One Last Deal" starring Danny Dyer, and "The Wizard of the Kremlin" with Jude Law and Alicia Vikander. The festival promises a diverse lineup of films that showcase personal visions and storytelling.

Paul Gallagher, Head of Programme at Glasgow Film Festival, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, highlighting the range of films from Scotland and beyond. The festival aims to provide a platform for filmmakers to share their work with audiences in Glasgow and beyond, celebrating the art of cinema.
