Mark Ruffalo's Hulk Won't Smash in Avengers: Doomsday, But Spider-Man: Brand New Day Awaits

Mark Ruffalo's portrayal of The Incredible Hulk will not be featured in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. Despite his long-standing role as the green hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ruffalo has confirmed that his character will not make an appearance in the film. However, the actor expressed his openness to returning as Hulk in the future, emphasizing the opportunities the role has brought him.
While Ruffalo's Hulk won't be part of Avengers: Doomsday, fans can look forward to seeing the character alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the upcoming movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film, set to release in July 2026, will also feature Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon, and Sadie Sink in various roles.
In addition to Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, known for his role as Star-Lord in the MCU, has expressed his interest in returning to the character. Pratt mentioned his desire to fulfill the promise made in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, hinting at Star-Lord's return in the future.
Avengers: Doomsday boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and others. The film will also introduce the Fantastic Four, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, along with returning X-Men icons like Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, and others.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. The film is expected to follow the Avengers, the New Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four as they unite to thwart Doctor Doom's destructive plans across the Multiverse.
