RFK Racing Gears Up for Daytona 500 with Four-Car Lineup Including Corey LaJoie

RFK Racing is gearing up for the 68th running of the Daytona 500 in February with four cars in the lineup. In addition to the confirmed entries of Chris Buescher, Ryan Preece, and Brad Keselowski, the team will field an extra open entry with Corey LaJoie behind the wheel of the No. 99 Ford Mustang. The No. 99 has a rich history with the Roush team, with drivers like Carl Edwards and Jeff Burton having success in the car, winning a total of 40 races.

LaJoie, who has nine previous starts in the Daytona 500, is aiming to qualify for NASCAR's premier event. He has shown promise in the race, finishing as high as fourth in 2024 and running in the top five last year before being caught in a late-race incident. LaJoie will also be filling in for Brad Keselowski in the Clash at Bowman Gray as Keselowski recovers from a leg injury. The addition of a fourth car for RFK Racing at Daytona is seen as a strategic move to enhance their chances of success in the race.

RFK Racing last fielded four cars in the Daytona 500 in 2012, a race they ultimately won with Matt Kenseth behind the wheel. If LaJoie secures a spot in the race among a competitive field of open entries, it will mark his 277th career start at the Cup level. LaJoie expressed his excitement for the opportunity with RFK Racing, calling it a dream come true and acknowledging the trust placed in him by the team. Trimble will be the primary sponsor for LaJoie and the No. 99 Ford at Daytona.
