Snail Mail's 'Ricochet' Album: A Musical Journey of Reflection and Renewal

Snail Mail is back with her first album in five years, titled "Ricochet," set to release on March 27th via Matador Records. The album, consisting of 11 songs, showcases Lindsey Jordan's introspective exploration of themes like time, mortality, and loss. This marks her return to music following vocal surgery in 2021, with a renewed sense of clarity and control in her music creation process.
Jordan wrote all the instrumentals and vocal melodies for the album on the piano or guitar, taking a year to craft the lyrics. She collaborated with producer and bassist Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma) to record the album at various studios in North Carolina and Brooklyn. The first single from the album, "Dead End," captures the essence of suburban adolescence with its grunge aesthetic and reflective hooks, evoking a sense of nostalgia for childhood.
To support the album release, Snail Mail will embark on a tour starting on April 10th in Milwaukee and spanning across various cities in North America, including Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and more. The tour will feature special guests like Sharp Pins, Avalon Emerson, The Charm, Swirlies, Armlock, and Rocket at select shows. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on January 23rd via Ticketmaster.
The tracklist for "Ricochet" includes songs like "Tractor Beam," "My Maker," "Light On Our Feet," "Cruise," "Agony Freak," "Dead End," "Butterfly," "Nowhere," "Hell," "Ricochet," and "Reverie." The tour dates extend until May 15th, with a final show at Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City. Additionally, there will be a performance in London, UK on June 26th at Electric Ballroom. Don't miss the opportunity to experience Snail Mail's latest musical journey on her upcoming tour.
