The latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Supergirl movie has been announced. Milly Alcock will star as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, Superman's cousin from Krypton. Diarmaid Murtagh will play Drom Baxton, the second-in-command to Krem of The Yellow Hills, the main villain portrayed by Matthias Schoenaerts. Drom and Krem are depicted as ruthless space pirates and human traffickers.
Murtagh, known for his roles in Vikings, Outlander, and The Tourist, joins the cast of Supergirl, which is based on the comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The star-studded cast of Supergirl includes Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Jason Momoa as Lobo. David Corenswet will reprise his role as Clark Kent/Superman in the film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. James Gunn and Peter Safran are on board as producers.
Supergirl is the second installment in the DC Universe, following the success of Superman. It is the first of two DCU movies slated for release this year, with Clayface, a body horror film featuring Tom Rhys Harries as the titular villain, set to premiere on September 11, 2026. Supergirl is part of DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, with Man of Tomorrow, the next chapter in the Superman Saga, scheduled for July 9, 2027.
Mark your calendars for the premiere of Supergirl on June 26, 2026, as the superhero saga continues to unfold in the DC Universe.
