USC Trojans Pursue Five-Star Cornerback Donte Wright: Can They Flip Him from Georgia?

USC Trojans cornerbacks coach Trovon Reed recently made a visit to five-star cornerback recruit Donte Wright, who is currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Despite Wright's commitment to Georgia, USC is actively pursuing him in hopes of convincing him to flip to the Trojans.
Wright, a standout player from Long Beach Poly High School in California, has been committed to Georgia since June 2025. USC's coaching staff, led by general manager Chad Bowden, has been successful in recruiting top California talent, with one commit already secured in four-star defensive back Aaryn Washington, who recently transferred to IMG Academy.
Securing Wright's commitment would not only be a significant win over Georgia but also a boost to USC's recruiting efforts in California. The Trojans have been actively visiting recruits off-campus, with Reed's visit to Wright highlighting the importance of landing the talented cornerback for USC's recruiting class.
Wright is highly regarded as Georgia's top commit and the third-ranked recruit from California. USC is also targeting other top California recruits, including four-star safety Honor Fa'alave-Johnson and four-star defensive lineman Kasi Currie. While USC has been successful in recruiting, the challenge of flipping Wright from Georgia remains a priority for the Trojans.
As USC continues its recruiting efforts, the addition of Wright to the Trojans' class of 2027 would be a significant achievement. With the coaching staff changes and uncertainties surrounding the defensive coordinator position, USC is focused on securing top recruits like Wright to bolster its roster and compete at the highest level in college football.
