Ford and Lincoln Vehicle Recall: Engine Block Heater Issue

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for 116,672 Ford and Lincoln vehicles due to a problem with the engine block heater. The affected vehicles include various models from both Ford and Lincoln. The issue with the engine block heater could lead to a coolant leak and potential short circuit when the heater is plugged in, posing a fire risk. Owners of the recalled vehicles are advised not to use the block heater until it has been replaced. Dealers will replace the block heater free of charge. Ford will send out two letters to owners, the first notifying them of the recall in February and the second once a repair is available in April. For more information, owners can contact Ford at 866-436-7332, referencing internal recall number 26S01. Vehicle identification numbers can also be checked on the NHTSA website.
