Google Introduces Personal Intelligence Feature to AI Mode for Personalized Search Results

Google has introduced a new feature called "Personal Intelligence" to AI Mode, which allows the chatbot to provide more personalized search results by analyzing your Gmail and Google Photos accounts. This feature eliminates the need for users to manually set preferences and adjusts search results based on information from emails and photos.
For instance, Personal Intelligence enables AI Mode to suggest travel plans by referencing hotel bookings in your Gmail and vacation photos in Google Photos. It can also recommend ice cream parlors if you frequently take selfies with ice cream. Additionally, when shopping online, AI Mode can prioritize products from brands you have previously purchased or worn.
Users with Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions can now connect their Gmail and Google Photos accounts to AI Mode to benefit from Personal Intelligence. This feature is currently available in the US as a Google Labs feature for personal Google accounts. The update follows the introduction of Personal Intelligence to Gemini AI, which also utilizes Search and YouTube history in addition to Gmail and Photos.
Google emphasizes that AI Mode, powered by the Gemini 3 model, prioritizes user privacy and does not directly access Gmail inboxes or Google Photos libraries for training. The training process is limited to specific prompts in AI Mode and the model's responses to enhance functionality over time. While Personal Intelligence can enhance user experience, Google acknowledges that errors may occur during internal testing.
