Mount Vernon Place Church Presents: A Grateful Dead Tribute Concert with Cris Jacobs & Friends
Mount Vernon Place Church, under new ownership, is gearing up for a Grateful Dead-themed concert in February. The event will feature Cris Jacobs & Friends and special guests from The WolfPack, celebrating the Grateful Dead Songbook. The concert will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the church, located at 2 E. Mount Vernon Place. This concert is part of the church's transformation into a multipurpose venue and gathering space for the Mount Vernon community.
The upcoming concert promises to be a memorable experience, with the organizers aiming to create an electrifying atmosphere. The Grateful Dead, a legendary rock band, disbanded in 1995 after the passing of Jerry Garcia. However, former members have come together in various iterations over the years. This concert will pay tribute to the band's iconic music and legacy, featuring talented musicians who are well-versed in the Grateful Dead's catalog.
Cris Jacobs, a renowned Baltimore-based singer and songwriter, will headline the event alongside Mads Tolling, Brian Switzer, and Alex Kelly from The WolfPack. Together, they will deliver a unique interpretation of the Grateful Dead's timeless songs. The concert, produced by the St. Paul Sound Room and Friends, aims to showcase the rich musical heritage of Baltimore and celebrate the vibrant Mount Vernon neighborhood.
Proceeds from the concert will be split between UNITE Mount Vernon and the Rex Foundation, a charitable organization established by The Grateful Dead and friends. The event will feature two sets of music, starting at 6 p.m. and concluding at 10 p.m., with a brief intermission between sets. Tickets are priced at $161.90 for center section seats and $108.55 for left and right section seats. Attendees can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and water during the concert.
