Musical Tribute to Marianne Faithfull: Rufus Wainwright and Norah Jones Perform at Sundance Film Festival

Two music stars, Rufus Wainwright and Norah Jones, will be performing at the Sundance Film Festival to pay tribute to the iconic singer Marianne Faithfull. The performance will take place at Park City’s Eccles Theatre following the premiere of the film "Broken English" by filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard. The film, which debuted at the Venice Film Festival, offers a unique and genre-bending look at Faithfull's life and career.

The film introduces viewers to the Ministry of Not Forgetting, a fictional research facility where Tilda Swinton and George MacKay delve into Faithfull's legacy. Through archival footage and performances, the film presents a playful and original portrayal of the musician who defied conventions. The star-studded cast includes Sophia Di Martino, Zawe Ashton, Calvin Demba, Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Courtney Love, Suki Waterhouse, Beth Orton, and Jehnny Beth.

During a press event at The Park in Park City, Sundance Film Festival's director of programming, Kim Yutani, announced the upcoming performance by Wainwright and Jones. The film "Broken English" is part of the festival's Spotlight section, showcasing the work of Forsyth and Pollard, who previously presented "20,000 Days on Earth" at Sundance in 2014.

The collaboration between Wainwright, Jones, and the filmmakers promises to be a memorable tribute to Marianne Faithfull's enduring legacy. Don't miss this special performance at the Sundance Film Festival.
