Phil Collins Opens Up About Health Struggles and Road to Recovery

British music icon Phil Collins recently revealed that ongoing health issues have led him to require 24-hour medical care. In a podcast interview, Collins shared that he now has a live-in nurse to assist him with his medications and daily health needs. The 74-year-old singer-songwriter has faced various health challenges in recent years, including multiple knee surgeries, complications from knee problems, and a battle with COVID-19 that affected his kidneys.

Despite these setbacks, Collins has made progress in his recovery and can now walk again with the help of crutches. He has also taken steps to address his past struggles with alcohol, celebrating two years of sobriety. Collins continues to manage nerve damage from a spinal injury in 2007 that left him unable to play the drums. While he hopes to regain full mobility, he remains uncertain about returning to live performances, with his last concert taking place in 2022.

Throughout his health journey, Collins has maintained a positive outlook, describing the past few years as challenging but ultimately manageable. Despite facing type 2 diabetes and other health conditions that have impacted his ability to tour, Collins remains resilient and focused on his recovery.
