Rush Frontman Geddy Lee Teases Potential New Music After Reunion Tour

Geddy Lee, the frontman and bassist of Rush, hints at the possibility of the band creating new music once their reunion tour concludes. Currently, the focus is on preparing for the 50 Something Tour, where they are working hard to learn a setlist of around 40 songs. Despite the busy schedule, Lee expresses his intention to return to songwriting after the tour ends.

While Geddy Lee had initially planned to work on music independently, the idea of collaborating with guitarist Alex Lifeson emerged during their jam sessions. However, the focus is currently on the tour preparations, and any new music plans are on hold until after the tour. Lee remains optimistic that they will eventually create new music together.

In recent years, Alex Lifeson has been involved in a new project called Envy Of None, releasing two albums with the band. Similarly, after completing his book tour, Geddy Lee felt the urge to engage in a musical project. He started writing lyrics and dusted off his bass guitars, preparing for potential musical endeavors.

Lee and Lifeson's jam sessions reignited their musical spark, leading to the reunion tour that exceeded expectations in terms of ticket sales and expanded to multiple cities. Looking ahead, Lee is curious to explore what musical creations the trio, including drummer Anika Nilles, can produce once they have time to focus on new material.

The Rush Fifty Something 2026 Tour is set to kick off in June, with dates and ticket information available on the official Rush website. Additionally, a Super Deluxe edition of the band's 1984 album, Grace Under Pressure, will be released in March 2026, featuring remixes by longtime Rush producer Terry Brown alongside the original album versions. Lee appreciates both versions and acknowledges the creative input of the producers involved in the reissue.
