Sovereignty: Horse of the Year and Trainer of the Year Honors at Eclipse Awards
Sovereignty was awarded Horse of the Year and 3-year-old male honors at the prestigious Eclipse Awards ceremony. Bill Mott, the talented trainer who led Sovereignty to victory in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont, was also recognized as Trainer of the Year. Despite missing the Preakness, Sovereignty's impressive performance in the Belmont during the Triple Crown season solidified his status as a standout in the racing world. Unfortunately, a fever prevented him from competing in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
