Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Returns to Theaters Ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Sony Pictures is set to rerelease the popular Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, in theaters on February 6, 2026, ahead of the debut of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026. The animated film, which initially hit theaters in 2018, was a commercial success and won the Best Animated Feature award at the 2019 Academy Awards. The story follows Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales, who gains spider-like powers and joins forces with other versions of Spider-Man to battle the villainous Kingpin.
Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has maintained a Certified Fresh score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 399 reviews. The movie has grossed approximately $394 million worldwide since its release. The star-studded voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Vélez, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Nicolas Cage, and Liev Schreiber.
Despite the success of the sequel Across the Spider-Verse in 2023, production on the third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse, is still ongoing. Directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have taken over the project after facing creative challenges. The movie is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 18, 2027. Fans can look forward to more adventures in the Spider-Verse as the franchise continues to expand its universe.
