Unlocking the Mysteries of Boleskine House: Grand Opening Weekend and Self-Guided Tours Await

Boleskine House, a historic Scottish manor with a dark past, is set to open to the public after undergoing a full restoration following fires in 2015 and 2019. The property, once owned by Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and infamous occultist Aleister Crowley, will be accessible to visitors for the first time in 260 years. A Grand Opening Weekend is scheduled for April 10 and 11, with self-guided tours starting on April 13.

Keith Readdy, chairman of the Boleskine House Foundation, describes the Grand Opening as a celebration of the extensive restoration process that has taken place over the past six years. The event will mark a significant milestone in making the finished building open to the public, acknowledging the efforts of volunteers, craftspeople, contractors, and supporters who contributed to the restoration.

Aleister Crowley purchased Boleskine House in 1899 and used the secluded location for conducting black magic rituals during his stay. Jimmy Page, known for his interest in Crowley's teachings, acquired the property in 1971. Page incorporated references to Crowley in Led Zeppelin's music and shared eerie stories about the house, including reports of unsettling occurrences and a history of tragic events that predated Crowley's ownership.

Despite owning Boleskine House for two decades, Page spent little time there and entrusted its care to a friend, Malcolm Dent. Dent recounted encountering a malevolent entity at the house, adding to the property's mysterious reputation. Page eventually sold the house in 1991, but the connection between him and Boleskine will be honored in the upcoming renovation.

The restoration of Boleskine House will pay tribute to Jimmy Page's association with the property, highlighting its unique history and cultural significance. Tickets for the Grand Opening Weekend and subsequent self-guided tours are now available for purchase, offering visitors a chance to explore this iconic location with a storied past.
