A Richmond Heights man is facing felony drug charges in Mahoning County after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered approximately 3,000 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop. The troopers pulled over a 2014 Cadillac SRX with Pennsylvania plates on Interstate 80 due to a vehicle defect violation. Upon noticing suspicious behavior, the troopers brought in a drug-sniffing dog, which indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed cocaine valued at around $81,000. The passenger, 55-year-old Randy Cottingham from Richmond Heights, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and drug trafficking, both of which are first-degree felonies. Further details about the driver and potential additional charges were not disclosed.
