The Eagles Perform at the Sphere in Las Vegas Despite Joe Walsh's Absence

The Eagles recently performed at the Sphere venue in Las Vegas without guitarist Joe Walsh, who was ill with the flu. Despite Walsh's absence, the band decided to go ahead with the show and had an emergency rehearsal to prepare. Vince Gill took over lead vocals on three Walsh compositions, including "Rocky Mountain Way," "Life's Been Good," and "In The City." The setlist was adjusted to accommodate Walsh's absence, with "Funk #49" being replaced by "Best Of My Love." Walsh also missed part of the previous night's show at the Sphere due to his illness.
The Eagles have a residency at the Sphere with upcoming shows scheduled for January 30 and 31, as well as in late February and late March. They will not be performing at the venue in 2026. Additionally, the band is set to headline the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 2. Their iconic compilation album, "Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)," recently achieved Quadruple Diamond certification from the RIAA for selling 40 million copies in the U.S. To celebrate, the Eagles will release a limited-edition clear-vinyl version of the album on February 17, available for pre-order on Eagles.com.
