Wong Returns: Casting Rumor for Avengers: Doomsday Sparks Excitement

A new casting rumor has emerged for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, hinting at the return of a beloved superhero. The highly anticipated fifth installment in the Avengers franchise is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
According to insider James Mack on X, Benedict Wong's character, Wong, is rumored to make a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday. Wong's role in the film is said to involve preventing one universe from colliding with another, showcasing his abilities as the current Sorcerer Supreme in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Following Stephen Strange's disappearance after Thanos' snap, Wong stepped up as the Sorcerer Supreme and maintained the position even after Stephen's return. Fans last saw Wong in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Additionally, there are speculations that Wong might lead the rumored Strange Academy series.
